HC Deb 21 September 1943 vol 392 cc17-8
14. Mr. Brooke

asked the Secretary of State for War, in view of the large numbers of Germans captured during recent months, what safeguards are maintained against Nazi party leaders asserting authority over their fellow-prisoners in prisoner-of-war Camps?

Sir J. Grigg

German camp leaders are not allowed to take any disciplinary action against the prisoners or to issue orders to them except on such matters as are delegated to the camp leaders by the camp commandants who are responsible for the discipline of the prisoners.
