HC Deb 20 October 1943 vol 392 c1377
45. Mr. Tinker

asked the Prime Minister whether he has consulted with the Secretary of State for War and the Secretary of State for Air as to the arrangements by which those who have been 'serving overseas for a long period can be given leave; and what decision he has made?

The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister gave yesterday in reply to a Question by my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Eastbourne (Major C. S. Taylor).

Mr. Tinker

I did not hear it yesterday, and will my right hon. Friend repeat what the Prime Minister said?

Mr. Attlee

Perhaps my hon. Friend will obtain a copy.

Major C. S. Taylor

Is it not a fact that the Regulations in the Army and the Royal Air Force are different, and is it not true to say that the men serving overseas in the Army resent the special treatment which is given to certain R.A.F. personnel?

Mr. Attlee

That seems to raise a different question.
