11. Mr. Astorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Yugoslav and Greek Governments will be invited to become members of the Mediterranean Commission?
§ Mr. LawThe method of associating European Allied Governments with the work of the Mediterranean Commission will be discussed at the forthcoming Moscow Conference.
Mr. AstorWill my right hon. Friend undertake that no decision will be taken, when questions are discussed affecting the interests of our Greek and Yugoslav Allies by this Commission, unless they are represented?
§ Mr. LawI do not think I can give any undertaking in advance of the Moscow Conference, but it is obvious that His Majesty's Government always bear in mind the interests of our Allies.
§ Sir Percy HarrisBut is this not important to Greece and Yugoslavia, considering the great sacrifices they have made in resisting Fascism?
Mr. AstorCan my right hon. Friend say what is the justification for putting the French Liberation Committee, which is not even recognised as a Government, on this Commission and excluding the Greeks and Yugoslays, who have been recognised as a Government and who have been fighting with us for a far longer time?
§ Mr. LawI do not think I can say arty more than that this matter will be discussed at Moscow and that we are fully conscious of the interests of the Greek and Yugoslav Governments in this matter and have always been conscious of them.
