HC Deb 24 June 1943 vol 390 c1309
52. Mr. Hannah

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he can give the House any information about the Order in Council of 20th May about trespassing on allotments; and to what extent it is helping to stop that wrong?

Mr. Hudson

The effect of the Order in Council is to make it an offence against the Defence Regulations for a person to trespass, without reasonable excuse, on allotment land. It is my hope and belief that any considerable number of prosecutions will prove unnecessary now that the public realise that trespass on allotments without reasonable excuse is an offence.
