HC Deb 28 July 1943 vol 391 c1584
Colonel Sir A. Lambert Ward

On a question of Business. May I ask whether the Leader of the House is in a position to inform us of the dates of the forthcoming Summer Adjournment?

Mr. Eden

Perhaps it may be for the convenience of the House, if I give now, in advance, the dates which we have in mind, though of course they must be provisional, because circumstances may arise which we cannot now foretell. If all outstanding Business has been obtained, it is proposed to adjourn on the third Sitting Day of the next series of Sittings for the Summer Recess and to meet again on the first Sitting Day after 19th September. As the House is aware, provision already exists for the House to be recalled at an earlier date, should such a course be necessary in the public interest.
