HC Deb 20 July 1943 vol 391 cc672-3
23. Mr. Goldie

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will publish for the information of the burgesses of Warrington the Report of the Military Court of Inquiry recently convened to investigate the resumption of firing on the condemned rifle range situate at Orford barracks; and what action he proposes to take thereon?

Sir J. Grigg

I regret that the proceedings and findings of such inquiries cannot be published. The report of this inquiry has only just been received and is being examined, and until this has been done I am not in a position to say whether any action is necessary.

Mr. Goldie

Is my right hon. Friend aware that the canopy that was erected for the sake of protection by his Department has collapsed in the last few days, and will he take immediate steps to have it put right?

Sir J. Grigg

My hon. and learned Friend had better let me look at the matter as a whole.
