HC Deb 28 January 1943 vol 386 c618
59 Sir Frank Sanderson

asked the Minister of Health (1) whether the Departmental Committee on Valuation for Rates received and considered evidence as to the rentals of dwelling-houses;

(2) whether he is aware that his predecessor, on 4th April 1940, stated that the Report of the Departmental Committee on Valuation for Rates would be published as soon as practicable; and whether he proposes now to implement the promise;

(3) whether he will give the House a list of those public bodies and institutions, as well as individuals, who submitted evidence to the Departmental Committee on Valuation for Rates?

Mr. E. Brown

I will, with permission, reply to these Questions by referring my hon. Friend to the reply given him yesterday.

Sir F. Sanderson

Does my right hon. Friend consider that he is justified in withholding such an important Report, which is based upon evidence of such important and varied interests?

Mr. Brown

Yes, Sir, in spite of my hon. Friend's charming persistence over a number of months.
