HC Deb 18 February 1943 vol 386 c1929
31. Mr. Lipson

asked the Minister of Health whether he has considered the communication sent to him by the chairman of the Cheltenham General Hospital drawing attention to the acute shortage of domestic staff; and what action he proposes to take in the matter?

Mr. E. Brown

Yes, Sir. I have been in touch with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service. Owing to the calls upon woman-power, there is a shortage of domestic staff in many hospitals, but priority is given to finding women for such work, and he will give the hospital whatever help he can.
