HC Deb 09 February 1943 vol 386 c1161
38. Mr. Arthur Duckworth

asked the Minister of Information whether he is aware that a newspaper article, details of which have been communicated to him, conveyed valuable information to the enemy and was calculated to endanger the lives of officers and men and to prejudice the success of future operations; whether this article has been submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions; whether he has consulted the Service Departments concerned; and whether he has any statement to make?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Information (Mr. Thurtle)

My right hon. Friend is in consultation with the Service Departments concerned with regard to this article, and I cannot make any statement at present.

Mr. Duckworth

Can my hon. Friend say why this article was not censored?

Mr. Thurtle

I am afraid that I am not in a position at present to add to my answer, but I will let the hon. Member know when it is possible for a statement to be made.
