HC Deb 16 December 1943 vol 395 cc1683-4
60. Mr. Messer

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that his inspectors when visiting public assistance institutions expect matrons, who are State registered nurses, to be responsible for the direction of the nursing of any inmates who fall sick pending their removal; and if he will further consider the position of such matrons in relation to the Rushcliffe recommendations?

Mr. Willink

I see no reason to modify the reply I gave my hon. Friend last week.

Mr. Messer

In view of the fact that the second Report makes the position more difficult, will the right hon. Gentleman receive a deputation, so that we can reach finality?

Mr. Willink

I shall be happy to consider any such request.
