HC Deb 30 September 1942 vol 383 c762
37. Dr. Russell Thomas

asked the Minister of Information whether he is now satisfied with the co-ordination of Allied propaganda?

Mr. Bracken

No, Sir. "Satisfaction" is a word which has been expunged from the vocabulary of the Ministry of Information. But I see no cause to be dissatisfied with our relations with the Information Services of our Allies.

Commander Sir Archibald Southby

Does my right hon. Friend mean that the Ministry of Information neither gives nor feels satisfaction?

Dr. Russell Thomas

Will my right hon. Friend consider whether the time is propitious for setting up an Allied propaganda council for the purpose of unifying Allied propaganda, which is very important?

Mr. Bracken

We are in the closest possible touch with the Information Services of all the Allies, and particularly our Russian and United States Allies, and when the time comes we certainly will set up a council; but it would be a mistake to do this in a hurry. It requires time and patience.
