HC Deb 10 September 1942 vol 383 c290
50. Mr. Hannah

asked the Paymaster-General whether plans exist, at the end of the war, to release first from the Armed Forces those most needed for production, with a view especially to an immediate restoration of our export trade on the largest scale practicable?

Captain McEwen (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend is afraid that he cannot add anything to the reply which he gave to my hon. Friend's Question on 19th May.

Mr. Hannah

Do the Government realise the supreme need of experts to keep our heavy industries busy when the war is over?

Captain McEwen

I do not doubt it, Sir.
