HC Deb 09 September 1942 vol 383 c161
82. Mr. Lipson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is now able to make a statement with regard to the future status of the Voluntary Aid Detachments?

Mr. Sandys

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by my right hon. Friend to my hon. Friend the Member for Bournemouth (Sir L. Lyle) yesterday.

Mr. Lipson

Is my hon. Friend aware that members of the Voluntary Aid Detachments have been kept in suspense about their future for a long time, and will he bear in mind the need for coming to a decision very soon?

Mr. Sandys

I am aware of the urgency of the matter. The reason for the delay was explained in the answer given yesterday.
