§ Mr. H. StraussI assume that my hon. Friend refers to the area of the Corporation of the City of London and the London County Council. My noble Friend understands that these authorities have provisional plans of redevelopment in an advanced stage of preparation, but he cannot say when they will be completed. The question when and by whom such provisional plans may be inspected is for the authorities themselves to determine.
§ Mr. BossomSeeing that millions of people will be affected, as well as a great number of public and private corporations, could not an effort be made to let the preliminary suggestions be known as soon as possible so as not to have delay?
§ Mr. StraussI think my hon. Friend is under some misapprehension regarding the stage at present reached. There is no question at present of a statutory scheme, regarding which the Town and Country Planning Act and Regulations make provision for inspection. The City Corporation and the London County Council are at present under no obligation to publish their provisional plans, and they may have well-founded objections to doing so.
