5. Flight-Lieutenant Ralph Etherton

asked the Secretary of State for Air what award there is similar to the Territorial Decoration available for the Royal Air Force; what are the conditions governing such award; and to whom can it be awarded?

As announced in the "London Gazette" of nth September an Air Efficiency Award has been instituted for long and meritorious service in the Auxiliary and Volunteer Air Forces of the Empire. I am sending my hon. and gallant Friend a copy of the Air Ministry Order promulgating the conditions.

Are the Reserve of Air Force Officers eligible for this award?

Sir A. Sinclair

No. Sir. This applies only to civilians who give their 'time voluntarily in time of peace to learn the job of the Royal Air Force.
