43. Mr. Sorensen

asked the President of the Board of Education, whether he is now in a position to state when he will bring new education proposals before the House; and what progress has been made respecting consideration of the problems of dual control and the imparting of religious instruction in elementary and secondary schools.

Mr. Ede

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Not yet, Sir." The matters referred to in the second part are under active discussion with representatives of the various interests concerned.

When is some statement likely to be made on the matter?

I would advise my hon. Friend to put a question in a few weeks' time.
