HC Deb 01 October 1942 vol 383 c926
45. Mr. Tinker

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the granting of the King's Service Badge to all ex-Service men who have been honourably discharged from the Army, Navy or Air Force?

The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for the Bassetlaw Division of Nottingham (Mr. Bellenger) on 9th June last.

Mr. Tinker

I have already seen that. Since the Question was put down, I have had 21 most pathetic letters from men in various parts of the country who have given their best to the State, and they have nothing to show that they have done that.

Mr. Attlee

It is difficult to make distinctions between people who in various occupations and in various methods are giving full-time service to the State. I shall be glad to discuss the point with my hon. Friend.
