asked the Prime Minister whether he is now able to indicate whether a badge, of suitable design, can be issued to ail ex-Servicemen and merchant seamen who are not otherwise eligible for a badge under present regulations?

Mr. Attlee

I hope before very long to be in a position to make a statement.

Mr. Bellenger

In view of the delay that has taken place and my right hon. Friend's answer last week, can he now give more specific information as to when he will be able to give a definite answer?

Ministers are being consulted on this question, but I am afraid it must be a matter of a few weeks before we can get a decision.

Mr. Davidson

Will the right hon. Gentleman keep in mind the position of these men with regard to their badges, and that these badges should allow them entry into Service canteens?
