HC Deb 19 May 1942 vol 380 c32
62. Sir William Wayland

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty why coastguards, who are members of His Majesty's Forces, are refused service at Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes canteens?

The Civil Lord of the Admiralty (Captain Pilkington)

Members of the Coastguard Service have recently been reorganised as part of the Armed Forces of the Crown, and arrangements to permit them to use N.A.A.F.I. canteens when in uniform are in the course of preparation.
