HC Deb 25 March 1942 vol 378 c1984
34. Mr. Thorne

asked the Postmaster-General whether he can now give any more information about the 40,000 coupons and the 1,000 clothing cards stolen from the General Post Office by a storeman?

The Postmaster-General (Mr. W. S. Morrison)

The cards of clothing coupons were stolen by a storeman, who has since been convicted and sentenced, together with three other persons, not in Post Office employment, charged with receiving. Nearly 23,000 of the missing coupons have been recovered.
