Major Lloyd George

There are now 33 British Restaurants serving approximately 15,500 meals per day, operated by local authorities in Scotland, as well as six centres serving 1,850 meals per day operated by voluntary organisations. Plans for a further 43 British Restaurants have been approved, and 36 additional schemes are under consideration. Local authorities are also operating nine cooking depots serving approximately 7,200 meals per day. A further seven cooking depots have been completed, but are not yet in day-to-day operation, and sites for an additional 10 cooking depots have been arranged.
