asked the Secretary for Petroleum whether, contemporaneously with the forthcoming cuts in the distribution of petrol, he will take steps to abolish the use of the system known as "Drive yourself" hire of motor cars, except in instances to be specified and certified or warranted on business of national urgency?

The Hire Service Order is now being revised, and I will consider my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion.

Will my hon. Friend realise that something ought to be done to stop this wholesale abuse?

The new order will come into force contemporaneously with the new petrol restrictions.
