HC Deb 12 March 1942 vol 378 c1190
37. Sir L. Lyle

asked the Minister of Health the increase in the number of panel patients per panel doctor in the Bournemouth area; and whether he is satisfied that there are sufficient doctors to deal with any sudden increase of illness in the district?

Mr. E. Brown

It would not be in the public interest to indicate the increases in the number of panel patients per working panel doctor in Bournemouth or elsewhere. I have no grounds for thinking that the medical personnel of Bournemouth has been unduly depleted as compared with other areas in relation to likely calls upon its services.

Sir L. Lyle

Does the right hon. Gentleman really mean to tell us that to give the number of panel patients per doctor in Bournemouth would be information of value to the enemy?

Mr. Brown

If I am asked to do it in relation to any part of the country, it would give very valuable information to the enemy.
