asked the Under-Secretary of State for War (1) whether he is aware that when the band leader Geraldo appeared recently at the Empire Theatre, Glasgow, he had eight guardsmen from Wellington Barracks in his band; and how much did the guardsmen receive;

(2) whether he is aware that when band leader Joe Loss recently appeared in Glasgow, he received the loan of eight guardsmen bandsmen for recording purposes; for whom was the recording done; and how much did the guardsmen receive;

(3) whether he is aware that the band of the Royal Army Ordnance Corp recently did a week's broadcasting at Weston-super-Mare for the British Broadcasting Corporation and a concert at Swindon, Bath and Bristol; and can he state the fee paid by the British Broadcasting Corporation per man, the percentage allowed at the concerts, and how much the bandsmen received?
