HC Deb 05 March 1942 vol 378 cc779-80
5. Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Minister of Labour, whether he can take steps to ensure that wherever possible an adequate proportion of technical experts are co-opted on to the production committees in war industries.

Mr. Bevin

The composition of production advisory committees or of works committees is a matter for those who decide to establish them, but I have no doubt that care will be taken by those concerned to ensure that they are appropriately constituted, having regard to the particular requirements of each case.

Mr. Wootton-Davies

Is my right hon. Friend satisfied that sufficient use is being made of technical and scientific experience in production?

Mr. Bevin

We do not want to have too much technical and scientific experience wasted at meetings. We want them on the job.
