HC Deb 05 March 1942 vol 378 cc798-9
40. Major Vyvyan Adams

asked the Postmaster-General what extension of postal facilities will this year be arranged to coincide with the introduction of double summer-time?

The Assistant Postmaster-General (Mr. Grimston)

Outside London, summer services were brought into force last Monday, and these are the same as during double summer-time last year. In London, the considerations are somewhat different, but the last delivery is already being made at the same time as in double summer-time last year. The times of the first delivery and the last collection are under review at present, and I hope to make an announcement at an early date.
