HC Deb 04 March 1942 vol 378 c627
17. Mr. R. C. Morrison

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings whether, in view of the urgent necessity for the salvage of metal scrap, he can state the position with respect to the railings on the property of Lord Baldwin?

Mr. Hicks

With the exception of the pair of gates at the entrance to the main drive, which were presented to Lord Baldwin on his retirement by the Worcester Association, all railings and gates have now been safely gathered in.

Captain Alan Graham

Is the hon. Member aware that it is very necessary to leave Lord Baldwin his gates in order to protect him from the just indignation of the mob?
