HC Deb 03 March 1942 vol 378 c496
10. Mr. Leach

asked the Under-secretary of State for War whether wounded soldiers in hospitals or at first-aid posts are asked for consent before anti-tetanus or other injections are administered; and whether they are free to refuse such operations if they so desire?

The Financial Secretary to the War Office (Mr. Sandys)

A wounded soldier is always free to refuse an injection. If, however, the patient's condition is such that the surgeon considers him incapable of rational judgment, he may use his own discretion.
