HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 cc32-3
59. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can make a statement on his policy of rehabilitation; how many centres have been set up; and is there consultation between all Government Departments interested?

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour (Mr. Tomlinson)

In reply to the first part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Rotherham (Mr. Dobbie) on 22nd January. No special centres have so far been set up, but the fullest use is being made of the facilities available at the Ministry's own centres, technical colleges and voluntary institutions which are experienced in the training of the disabled. There is close consultation with the various Departments interested in the working of the scheme.
