Mr. HudsonThe total quantity of lime supplied for agricultural purposes has been almost doubled in the past season and is still increasing. I am aware that since the announcement of the increased subsidy for summer deliveries, many producers of the more familiar types of agricultural lime have received orders in excess of what can be delivered in the immediate future. As regards the second part of the Question, I am advised that supplies of industrial by-product lime suitable for agricultural use are still avail- 175 able for delivery in the West Riding. Farmers who are having difficulty in getting their lime orders fulfilled should, however, approach their county war agricultural executive committee as to possible alternative sources of supply.
