§ Sir A. SinclairThe comments to which my hon. Friend refers were prompted by the statements made by the witness. The facts, however, are that with the agreement of the Ministry of Labour and National Service the man in question was released from industry for aircrew training on the understanding that he would be returned to industry if he proved to be unsuitable for it. He did prove to be unsuitable, and he was duly returned to his previous employment.
§ Sir W. SmithersIn view of the fact that this case is typical of many complaints, will the right hon. Baronet issue definite orders to stations and give commanding officers wide powers of judgment to put round pegs into round holes?
§ Sir A. SinclairThat is exactly what was intended, and I think achieved, in this case. There is no doubt that this man will render better service to the country in industry.
