HC Deb 15 July 1942 vol 381 c1203
5. Mr. Liddall

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is prepared to modify the policy of his Department so that firms may be permitted to tender for contracts even though they have not previously undertaken precisely similar work?

Sir A. Sinclair

Any firm may apply for admission to the Air Ministry trade lists, but the Department requires to be satisfied, in respect of each applicant, that the firm is in a position, both financially and technically, to undertake the type of work for which it has applied. This need not be precisely similar work to that on which the firm is normally engaged.

Mr. Liddall

Will the right hon. Baronet see that his reply is widely circulated?

Sir A. Sinclair

The hon. Member's Question will have that effect.
