HC Deb 15 July 1942 vol 381 c1208
12. Major Cazalet

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give the House any information in regard to the readmission from Iraq and Iran into Palestine recently of a considerable number of Arabs who have been closely associated with anti-British activities?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

If my hon. Friend will give me particulars of any persons concerned, my Noble Friend will ask the High Commissioner for Palestine to furnish a report.

Major Cazalet

Is my right hon. Friend aware that many of those recently admitted have been closely associated in the past with the activities of the Mufti?

Mr. Macmillan

As I do not know to what individuals my hon. and gallant Friend is referring, I cannot answer the Question.

Earl Winterton

Will my right hon. Friend make clear that there will be no bar on Arabs from Iraq and Iran unless on the ground that they are seditious?

Commander Locker-Lampson

Where is the Mufti? Is he still in Berlin?
