HC Deb 14 July 1942 vol 381 c1067
38. Mr. Parker

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will take steps to see that all cricket and other sports shirts are in future produced with short sleeves so as to economise in unnecessary use of material?

The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. Dalton)

Arrangements are being made for the continued production in adequate quantities of short sleeved shirts, but it is not intended to prohibit the production of long sleeved shirts, which may be used for other purposes as well as for sport.
