asked the President of the Board of Trade the personnel of the Committee on Art and Design in post-war industry?

I think the hon. Member must be referring to a Sub-Committee of the Post-War Export Trade Committee, and with his permission I will circulate the names in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Brown

Is the Minister satisfied that this sub-committee of the committee is doing any useful work, or is it an alibi for the continued existence of a Department whose functions have otherwise disappeared and which ought to be abolished?

Mr. Johnstone

I am satisfied that the committee is doing extremely useful work.
