HC Deb 14 July 1942 vol 381 c1054
3. Sir Herbert Williams

asked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been drawn to the difficulties of officers reverted to unemployment under A.C.I. No. 422, who have appealed to the Army Council against the decision, and are for a period unable to accept civilian employment, and equally are not in receipt of any pay; and will he consider modifying the regulations so that their pay shall continue until their appeal has been decided?

Sir J. Grigg

I am sending my hon. Friend full particulars of the case which has given rise to his Question. With regard to the general principle involved, I would refer him to the answer I gave to my hon. and learned Friend the Member for North Croydon (Mr. Willink) on 7th July.
