HC Deb 07 July 1942 vol 381 c628
26. Mr. Pritt

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that a certain unit, the identity of which has been communicated to him, was recently ordered to polish the brasses of its equipment on both sides and twice within a fortnight to re-blanco its equipment in a different colour, the men having to pay for the blanco for this; that complaints of similar breaches of Army Council Instructions are constantly being made; that such breaches are injurious to morale; and whether he will redeem the promises of his Department and take measures to put a stop to this conduct?

Sir J. Grigg

I am making inquiries and will communicate with my hon. and learned Friend.
