HC Deb 02 July 1942 vol 381 c500
38. Mr. Harvey

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the urgent need for a liaison officer for probation work to deal with cases coming before quarter sessions and assize courts in the West Riding; and whether he will communicate his views to the West Riding County Council?

Mr. H. Morrison

I agree with my hon. Friend as to the desirability of arranging for an experienced probation officer to act as liaison officer for courts of assize and quarter sessions, and my Department has been in communication on the subject with the Clerk of the Peace for the West Riding. I hope that as a result satisfactory arrangements may be made.
