HC Deb 02 July 1942 vol 381 c497
36. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied with the number of Invasion Committees set up in a certain area; if not, who is responsible; why have more not been set up; and what action is being taken to deal with the matter?

The Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Herbert Morrison)

In the area to which I understand my hon. Friend refers, Invasion Committees have been set up in all parishes in the county nearest the coast, while in the other counties concerned they have been or are being established where the military authorities so recommend. The work involved has been undertaken in a settled order of priority and good progress is being made.
