HC Deb 01 July 1942 vol 381 c186
5. Mr. Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether the wives of men in the Forces, on enlisting in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, are promised leave at the same time as their husbands; and, if so, is this being carried out?

Captain Balfour

No promise is given on enrolment, but in practice every effort is made to allow married airwomen to have leave at the same time as their husbands.

6. Mr. Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether compassionate leave granted to members of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force has to be taken as part of the 28 days' privilege leave to which they are entitled?

Captain Balfour

No. Sir.
