HC Deb 01 July 1942 vol 381 c193
22. Major C. S. Taylor

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the Royal Navy still requires certain types of high-class cameras?

Mr. Alexander

The Royal Navy uses a number of high-grade cameras, which are obtained in the ordinary way from trade production.

Major Taylor

Is it not a fact that a number of these cameras are held by the police in trust for aliens in this country? Have the Admiralty made any attempt to get those cameras by purchase or by requisitioning?

Mr. Alexander

I think the hon. and gallant Member will deduce from my answer that we have had no difficulty in obtaining the cameras when they have been required; but I will look into the supplementary point he makes.
