HC Deb 01 July 1942 vol 381 cc205-6
44. Mr. Lipson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is satisfied that the military training of Civil Defence wardens who wish to co-operate with the Home Guard is of a sufficiently practical nature; and, in particular, that it includes rifle practice?

Mr. Sandys

Yes, Sir. Civil Defence wardens who join the Home Guard receive the same training as other members of the Force.

Mr. Lipson

Could my right hon. Friend see that instructions from the War Office in this matter are generally carried out, because, as he knows from correspondence I have sent to him, it is not always so?

Mr. Sandys

I have reason to believe that they are being properly carried out.
