HC Deb 28 January 1942 vol 377 cc704-5
27. Mrs. Tate

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he is aware of the transport difficulties of the people of Paulton in Somerset; and whether it is proposed to arrange more adequate services from Paulton into Bath in order that these people may be granted necessary shopping facilities?

Colonel Llewellin

I have not received any representations on this subject. If there is real difficulty, I would suggest that the local authority should take the matter up with the Regional Transport Commissioner.

Mrs. Tate

If the Regional Transport Commissioner communicates with the right hon. and gallant Gentleman, will he endeavour to see that some arrangements are made, as there is very real suffering now?

Colonel Llewellin

Yes, Sir, certainly; but if it is taken up with the Regional Transport Commissioner—and I am informed that it has not yet been—I am certain he will do his best with the facilities available in that neighbourhood.
