HC Deb 24 February 1942 vol 378 c23
45. Mr. Pearson

asked the Minister without Portfolio whether he is aware that in the Government's decision relating to the transfer of statutory powers in regard to roads and town planning, there is lost to Wales the small amount of consideration extended to her when the Ministry of Health, through the Welsh Board of Health, exercised the statutory powers now forfeited to the Ministry of Works and Planning; and whether it is intended that the latter Ministry should make special provision for carrying out its statutory powers in Wales?

Mr. Bonlton

(Lord of the Treasury): My Noble Friend is anxious that the transfer shall not result in any loss of special consideration for Wales, but I am not yet in a position to make a statement on future organisation.

Sir Henry Morris-Jones

Will my hon. Friend kindly tell the House for whom it is that he is actually replying?
