asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs what were the total number of children sent overseas by the Children's Overseas Reception Board; the numbers employed on salary for this purpose; and the administrative costs of this Scheme at the latest convenient date?

The number of children evacuated under the Government Scheme was as follows:

Canada 1,532
Australia 577
South Africa 353
New Zealand 202
The total number of staff now employed for the London, Edinburgh and four Dominion offices is 33, inclusive of messengers, typists, etc. This staff is also reponsible for the administration of the Parcels, Coupons, and Remittance Schemes for all children evacuated outside the sterling area. The administrative costs of the scheme up to 31St December, 1941, after deducting the contributions from the parents, were £33,107.
