HC Deb 03 December 1942 vol 385 cc1279-80
21. Miss Ward

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he can give the estimated number of persons non-gainfully employed and gainfully employed, respectively, covered by the provisions of the Civilian (Personal) Injuries Scheme?

The Minister of Pensions (Sir Walter Womersley)

The statistics of my Department do not show these proportions and in any event they must be continually fluctuating.

Miss Ward

As this is a point of substance to the Select Committee, will not the right hon. Gentleman obtain an estimate so that the Committee may know how many gainfully and how many non-gainfully employed persons are involved in the scheme?

Sir W. Womersley

We had better wait for the request to come from the Select Committee.
