HC Deb 02 December 1942 vol 385 c1163
70. Mr. Tinker

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what progress has been made in Lancashire with outcrop coal working; how many sites are working; and whether further examination is being made for other sites to work?

Mr. Tom Smith

Some half-dozen sites are at present being worked, and over 40,000 tons of coal have been extracted to date. A number of other sites are being prospected, and the search for further sites to prospect is still in progress.
