HC Deb 30 September 1941 vol 374 c443
18. Sir Francis Fremantle

asked the Secretary of State for War how many men and women have been invalided out of the Army or incapacitated on account of defective hearing?

Captain Margesson

I regret that this information is not readily available.

Sir F. Fremantle

Would my right hon. and gallant Friend consider giving some kind of instruction whereby men invalided out of the Army for deafness may be passed on to the National Institute for the Deaf in order that good use may be made of these men, many of whom are extremely valuable, although no longer of use for military service?
