HC Deb 23 October 1941 vol 374 cc1887-8
45. Mr. Gallacher

asked the Prime Minister whether he has considered the resolution passed by the Cowdenbeath Co-operative Society and sent to him by the Member for West Fife; and what answer he has made to the society?

The Lord President of the Council-(Sir John Anderson)

My right hon. Friend has received a copy of the resolution to which the hon. Member refers, and in this connection I would refer him to the public statements which have been made in this, House by my right hon. Friend and particularly that of 30th September last.

Mr. Gallacher

Is the Minister aware that the resolution deals with two questions, the one with the opening of a second front, and the other with lifting the ban on the "Daily Worker"; and, in view of the interest with which the right hon. Gentleman himself read the "Daily Worker" when it was in existence, will he persuade the Prime Minister to withdraw the ban?
