HC Deb 27 November 1941 vol 376 c896
75. Mr. Mander

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will give an assurance that, in the distribution of fish, it is not intended that any preferential treatment shall be accorded, and that those conducting established fish-and-chip shops shall be given equal facilities with all others?

Major Lloyd George

Yes,. Sir. There will certainly be no discrimination against fish friers in any plans for the better distribution of fish which my Department may formulate. While there will be no preferential treatment of one class of trader as against another, special consideration will be given to particular classes of consumers such as hospitals.
